Full Day Ol Pejeta Rhino Conservancy
Overview
The Ol Pejeta Rhino Conservancy is located in the Mount Kenya region, offering fantastic views of the mountain on a clear day. It is East Africa’s largest Black Rhino Sanctuary and its 90,000 acres hold some of the highest predator densities in the country, making it the ideal place for a day excursion.
The Sanctuary also houses the Serena Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary**, the only place in Kenya to see this highly remarkable species and en route to the Sanctuary, you can stop at the Equator Line.

PermalinkI traveled on 01 June to Ol Pejeta and i enjoyed this trip. The journey started at 07:30 for about 04 hours and the roads are in very good conditions with beautiful scenery. I expected to be cold however the weather was perfect, it was a sunny and beautiful day.
The drive passing through Thika, Karatina & Nyeri with a brief stop at the Trout Tree Restaurant for a refreshment break could not be better. This is such a wonderful restaurant and well located. Greeted by Colobus monkeys and a few Hiraxes as well as overlook the Trout ponds was amazing.
Arriving at the reserve and a quick stop at the gate for conservancy entry payment, we proceeded for the buffet lunch at the Serena Sweetwaters Camp. Lunch was very good, nice fresh food and with a nice atmosphere.
Some antelopes and warthogs could be seen near the water point.
After lunch, we had a beautiful game drive to visit the chimpanzees and Baraca the blind rhino.
We were lucky to see 4 out of the Big 5 while on en route game drive and we had a good and experienced English speaking driver guide.
Driving back to Nairobi was good though a bit stressful since the road was dark and lots of cars on the road.
This excursion is worth the cost paid and i would like to try other excursions that you offer.
Well done Shaheen, Fareen and Morphine for organizing this beautiful trip.
Keep it up!

PermalinkReally enjoyed this full day out in the wild..Brilliant service, and entertaining and welcoming/friendly hosts that I enjoyed myself with. Hospitality was exceptional and so was the food arranged for us. I highly recommend using Wild Destinations to discover off the beaten path in Kenya
